                                    Our Company

Rolling Raven, LLC is a New Mexico based sustainable planning, consulting and design firm with offices in Abiquiu and Santa Fe. We offer landscape and planning services to clients in public and private sectors and have been in Northern New Mexico since 1998. The company also offers landscape services to residential clients through Fine Gardens which has been in existance since 1995 and is fully licensed and bonded.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to heal the relationship between nature and humanity. Without this relationship there is a disconnect between ourselves and life, a disconnect that keeps us from achieving our greatest potential, and prevents nature from prospering. This is the role sustainability plays - it is the new frame on which we weave a tapestry - the threads of nature and human.

Rebecca R Smith (President) grew up on a farm in Morristown, Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park .  She has been in the planning and landsape fields for 17 years. Rebecca did her graduate research work through the University of California at Berkeley graduating with a Master of Science (MSP) in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee. She also holds a BA in liberal arts and an AS in Engineering Technology. She has worked as a community garden manager, community organizer, and a materials analyst.

Karen M Butts has been interested in the environment since she was a child growing up in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with a BA from Sarah Lawrence and earned her masters degree in Environmental Conservation/Education from NYU. Karen did her gratuate field work at Slide Ranch environmental education center on the Northern California Coast. She has worked as a bicycle tour guide, a naturalist, a park ranger and has been a Landscape Designer for the past 10 years.  Karen is the fromer owner of Out 4 Travel, located in Berkeley, California.
